SRC Holdings combines two subsidiaries
In a move described as expanding its manufacturing and remanufacturing capabilities, SRC Holdings announced the combination of two of its subsidiaries: Global Recovery Corp. and SRC’s Whole Goods division to form SRC Industrial Corp.
The unification, effective Jan. 27, optimizes vertical integration and leverages the combined expertise of both teams. As SRC Industrial, the organization is positioned to expand energy and power generation manufacturing and remanufacturing capabilities in the rental, disaster relief, construction and agriculture markets and provide more seamless access to a broader range of products, including industrial power units, engines, industrial generators and industrial air compressors.
SRC Industrial expects to add more than 200 jobs in the next five years in the Springfield area. SRC Holdings is investing $19 million in a new 200,000-square-foot facility on N. Mulroy Road in Springfield that SRC Industrial will operate in once complete later this year.
Pitt Technology adds AI services
Pitt Technology Group is expanding its offerings to include private AI infrastructure solutions.
The new services, which allow clients to deploy AI tools on their own, private infrastructure, will be available through the company’s existing managed IT contracts as well as via fixed-fee engagements.

New offerings include custom AI training and fine-tuning; hybrid and cloud-integrated AI solutions; Microsoft Copilot integration; hosted AI services; and on-premises AI infrastructure running within a client’s own network.
Springfield-Greene County Library District seeks community feedback
The Springfield-Greene County Library District is developing its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan and is seeking community feedback. Library users and non-users are asked to complete a survey found at thelibrary.org/survey by Feb. 28. Paper surveys also are available at all library locations and on the Mobile Library. Anyone who completes the survey may enter to win one of five $50 Walmart Gift Cards. The drawing will be on Monday, March 3.
The Library is also hosting one-hour focus group sessions at branches throughout the county and virtually. No reservation is needed.

Great Southern names 2 new executives
Great Southern Bank has named Laura Smith as the new vice president, chief retail banking officer, and Stacy Fender as the vice president, director of communications and marketing. The promotions follow the retirements of two longtime executives, Kris Conley and Kelly Polonus, in December.
As vice president, chief retail banking officer, Smith oversees Great Southern’s 89 banking centers in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Arkansas and Nebraska, as well as the Investments and Training departments. She joined Great Southern’s Investments department in 2003, later managing that department for 15 years before being appointed to lead the Company’s retail banking division.
As vice president, director of communications and marketing, Fender oversees public relations, internal communications, marketing, and community relations. She has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, public relations, and internal communications. Prior to joining Great Southern, Fender spent the bulk of her career in the healthcare industry, most recently as director of marketing for a regional health system. She joined Great Southern in June 2024.
Mercy Springfield leader named president of north Missouri sites
Marie Moore, chief nursing officer in Mercy’s southwestern Missouri region, has been named the next president for the health system’s facilities in Washington and Lincoln County, Missouri.
Moore has been with Mercy for 17 years, starting as a nurse tech on the surgical telemetry floor at Mercy Hospital Springfield while in nursing school. She later moved to bedside nursing care and into several leadership positions, including hospital patient logistics.
After growing up in Branson, Moore earned her bachelor’s in nursing and master’s in health care administration from Missouri State University. She plans to relocate to Washington with her husband, Matthew, and three children.
BBB adds three to advisory board
Better Business Bureau Springfield announced the election of three new Advisory Board members, effective Jan. 1.
The new board members are:
- Daniel Koren, owner of Branson/Springfield Roofing Co.;
- Rafael Vite, founder and digital marketing director of Primate Digital Marketing; and
- Sam Arthur, chief technology officer of ACIS IT Solutions.
Webster Electric donates $10K to Honor Flight of the Ozarks
Webster Electric Cooperative donated $10,000 to Honor Flight of the Ozarks this month to help offset costs of taking veterans to Washington, D.C.
The grant, funded by Webster Electric’s Round Up program, will help support the flights, which each cost about $190,000 to cover the charter of a 737 aircraft, buses in Washington, meals for attendees and other expenses.
Three Honor Flights are planned in 2025, the first on May 28. Starting this year, flights will land in Dulles International Airport in Washington rather than Reagan National Airport, where lack of gate space has caused delayed returns to Springfield in the past. Our Lady Of The Lake Catholic Church in Branson will host a blood drive for the American Red Cross on Friday, March 21 from noon to 5 p.m.

Herschend receives Mel and Jean Carnahan Public Service Award
Silver Dollar City co-founder Peter Herschend was one of four Missourians honored Feb. 11 with a Mel and Jean Carnahan Public Service Award, recognizing dedication and contributions to the Show-Me State.
Herschend, who served 33 years as a member of the Missouri State Board of Education, was recognized alongside Sandra M. Moore of St. Louis, Gerard Grimaldi of Kansas City and the late Corrine Beakley. Two University of Missouri students, Juliana Payne and Alicen Dietrich, received scholarships.
In addition to his service in support of public education, Herschend was recognized for being a major booster of Missouri tourism, economic development and infrastructure, and a strong, enduring supporter of community, church and charitable causes.
