Q: What is AI Fight ClubTM? 

A competitive environment designed to accelerate the development and operational deployment of artificial intelligence to support warfighters in their missions.  

Our goal is to bring together industry, academic, and government experts to collaborate in a unique environment that fosters innovation, identifies vulnerabilities, and informs the development of more advanced AI systems to benefit American national security as a whole.   

Q: How does AI Fight ClubTM work? 

  • Registration and Team Formation: Participants, industry partners, and academia, would register and form respective teams. Each team would consist of experts in AI development, military operations, and domain-specific knowledge. 
  • Scenario Selection: The tournament organizers would select a set of scenarios that reflect realistic and complex military operations, such as:  
    • Airborne operations in a contested environment 
    • Layered Homeland Defense  
    • Coastal defense against amphibious assault  
    • Space-based surveillance and reconnaissance 
  • AI Agent Submission: Registered teams will be provided a participant guide that will contain information on the tournament scenario, scoring, evaluation criteria and interface requirements for the AI Fight ClubTM Arena.
  • Head-to-head Matchups: The teams would be paired in a competition, with each match up featuring two teams competing against each other. 
  • Match Format: Each tournament will focus on a specific military operation or challenge. The AI agents / capabilities will be evaluated on their performance in each scenario, with the team earning points based on predetermined, Operations Analysis informed evaluation metrics that will be shared with competitors prior to the tournament.

Q: When will the first AI Fight Club™ take place?

AIFC1 is targeted to be held in the 4th quarter of this year.

Q: Who should participate in AI Fight Club™? 

We aim to use this competition to make all AI capabilities across industry and academia more robust, reliable, and effective. 

Standout AI will meet exacting DOD standards that are an integral part of the AI Fight Club™ proving grounds, demonstrating the feasibility of capabilities for national security, as well as potential opportunities to partner with Lockheed Martin.

Teams will also have the opportunity to publish their results in accordance with the Participant Guide if they choose to.

Q: Will the outcomes of the fight clubs be made public?

AI Fight Club™ aims to bring the best of American ingenuity together to ensure we maintain our global dominance in the era of AI. Specific details regarding external communications and public announcements will be defined by Lockheed Martin and the performing teams.

Q: How will you know who won?

Criteria will be established in advance to evaluate the performance of AI systems in the AI Fight ClubTM, based on the specific scenarios and objectives of the competition.
