On October 5, the leading cryptocurrency reached a new all-time high (ATH) of $125,708.
By the time of writing, the asset had corrected to $124,900. Over the past week, Bitcoin has gained 14%.
Other cryptocurrencies showed little reaction to Bitcoin’s ATH. Ethereum tested $4,600 but returned to $4,500.
Solana rose to $235 (+2.5% for the day), while Dogecoin climbed to $0.26 (+2.3%).
In the past 24 hours, liquidation volumes reached $345 million, with $220 million attributed to shorts.

According to the analyst known as Rekt Capital, if Bitcoin can “convincingly” break the $126,500 mark, the price is likely to rise much higher and faster.

Nate Geraci, President of Nova Dius Wealth, commented on the new record with irony:
“Bitcoin has reached a new all-time high… And most people still don’t even know what it is.”
Meanwhile, according to Glassnode, the total balance of the leading cryptocurrency on centralized exchanges has fallen to a six-year low of 2.83 million BTC. Nearly 170,000 BTC have been withdrawn from trading platforms over 30 days.
Matthew Sigel, Head of Digital Asset Research at VanEck, noted that “exchanges are running out of Bitcoin.” He suggests that by October 6, Monday, the “first official shortage” may occur.
“Not financial advice. But maybe it’s wise to stock up on coins,” he added.
Investor and trader Mike Alfred shared that he spoke with “the guy who runs the most important OTC trading desk.” According to him, at current volumes, platforms will completely run out of Bitcoins for sale within two hours after futures open on Monday, unless the price rises to $126,000-129,000.
As reported, CryptoQuant expert PelinayPA confirmed Bitcoin’s “healthy dynamics.” Analysts also identified conditions for the leading cryptocurrency to rise to $200,000.
