Toronto-based Bitcoin Treasury Corporation (BTCT) has completed the initial phase of its ambitious Bitcoin accumulation strategy, purchasing 478.57 BTC for C$70 million. This acquisition brings the company’s total Bitcoin holdings to 771.37 BTC, providing shareholders with an initial Bitcoin-per-share (BPS) ratio of 0.0000634 on a fully diluted basis, excluding warrants but including convertible debentures.
The company’s goal is to steadily increase the BPS ratio and demonstrate how Bitcoin can serve as a stable anchor for modern corporate treasuries. This update comes as BTCT’s shares are set to resume trading on the TSX Venture Exchange on Monday, 30 June 2025, under the ticker “BTCT.” The stock had been halted during the capital raise and listing approval process.
BTCT recently closed a financing round, selling 426,650 common shares at C$10 each, raising C$125 million (≈US$92 million). These new shares are eligible for various Canadian registered plans, including RRSP, TFSA, RESP, RRIF, RDSP, FHSA, and DPSP, thereby broadening retail access to a pure-play corporate Bitcoin vehicle. However, early buyers must adhere to a mandated four-month-and-one-day hold period, which expires on 27 October 2025.
With over 10 million shares now free-floating and a substantial war chest ready for additional purchases, BTCT joins a select group of public companies that treat Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset. If its lending program scales, the firm could become a significant player in the Canadian market, leveraging capital-market strength to convert Bitcoin price appreciation into shareholder value. Investors will have their first opportunity to engage with this strategy when trading resumes on Monday.
BTCT’s acquisition of 478 BTC, increasing its total holdings to 771.37 BTC, is a strategic move that underscores the company’s commitment to the cryptocurrency market. This decision reflects BTCT’s confidence in the long-term value of Bitcoin and its proactive approach to navigating market volatility. By increasing its holdings, BTCT not only diversifies its asset portfolio but also positions itself as a forward-thinking entity in the digital finance landscape.
