Google’s AI Futures Fund is partnering with Accel’s Atoms pre-seed fund to invest up to $2m in each Indian artificial intelligence startup.

Internet technology provider Google’s AI Futures Fund is set to invest in Indian artificial intelligence startups through a partnership launched with venture capital firm Accel.
The Atoms AI Cohort 2026 will provide up to $2m in funding per startup, split between the AI Futures Fund and Accel Atoms, the VC firm’s India-focused pre-seed fund. The programme will be eligible for both India-based founders and those of Indian origin.
Startups will also be able to receive up to $350,000 in computing credits spanning Google’s Google Cloud and its Gemini and DeepMind AI products, as well as early access to Gemini and DeepMind models and test features before they are made available to the public.
The initiative will target startups and projects focusing on the future of coding, workplace productivity, creativity and entertainment content creation. Applications will be open until late January next year, with the programme set to formally begin in early February.
AI Futures Fund already provides cloud credits and privileged AI access for startups on a global basis, having been formally launched in May this year. One of its earliest portfolio companies, Toonsutra, is the creator of an Indian digital comic and webtoon app.
