Enterprises are entering a new chapter of digital transformation focused on scaling Agentic AI solutions across their operations. But moving from pilot to production isn’t easy. Many are struggling to operationalize AI in ways that align with their unique needs and drive tangible business value. At AWS re:Invent 2025, IBM and AWS will unveil new innovations to help clients overcome these barriers and advance their Agentic AI initiatives by enabling them to design, deploy and manage AI agents with enhanced speed, scalability and governance.

By combining IBM’s AI technology and consulting expertise with AWS services, our partnership provides enterprises the flexibility to choose where and how they scale AI—no matter their size, sector or location. Together, we’re helping clients across government, utilities, financial services and automotive harness Agentic AI where it will deliver the greatest impact for their business.

Driving Agentic AI from development to deployment, with flexibility and choice

Our collaboration goes beyond simply making IBM technology available on AWS. We’re partnering at every layer of the AI stack to deliver hybrid cloud, AI, data and automation solutions that fit seamlessly into existing environments, helping clients maximize their investments and enhance productivity. These include:

  • Integration of IBM watsonx Orchestrate and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to deliver Agentic AI capabilities that improve employee productivity and customer experience for enterprises. The integration brings into IBM watsonx Orchestrate both Amazon Bedrock models and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Memory and Observability modules, giving clients the ability to build, test, deploy and manage agents that maintain conversational context across interactions.
  • A new AI-first integrated development environment (IDE), IBM Bob, that offers advanced task generation capabilities for enterprise software development lifecycles, including software modernization. It comes with built-in integration of either IBM Guardium AI Security or Palo Alto Networks Prisma AIRS for secure-by-design development and orchestrates between multiple LLMs including Anthropic Claude via Amazon Bedrock. • ContextForge, a Model Context Protocol (MCP) gateway and registry built by IBM that runs on AWS infrastructure, using AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon S3 and Amazon DynamoDB to help clients build, deploy, monitor, secure and validate AI agents across a business. By bridging the gap between rapid development and enterprise-grade governance, ContextForge enables clients to easily discover, integrate and manage curated agentic resources.
  • A new agentic framework for application migration and modernization powered by IBM Consulting Advantage, our AI-driven delivery platform, to combine IBM assets and agentic automation with AWS native tools to help clients accelerate time-to-value, reduce transformation risks and enhance cost-effectiveness to evolve their enterprise business applications.
  • FedRAMP authorization of 11 IBM software solutions marks a significant investment in the federal market, expanding secure access to IBM’s most advanced technologies and reinforcing our long-term commitment to agency missions. By deploying these solutions on AWS GovCloud, IBM made a deliberate and strategic choice to meet federal hosting standards, ensuring agencies can adopt trusted, compliant tools without compromise.

Partnering to scale AI with technology, expertise and co-innovation

We’re also strengthening our partnership with AWS to help clients modernize with confidence—bringing together services and offerings across AI, hybrid cloud and advanced security. Our recent expansion into markets like the Middle East, Japan, and India, gives more enterprises access to this expertise and innovation through the AWS Marketplace, one of our primary channels for software delivery, now featuring 15 new IBM Consulting Agentic AI solutions.

To support clients on their SAP transformation journey, IBM and AWS have signed a new Strategic Collaboration Agreement that enables them to rapidly advance SAP S/4HANA modernization on AWS and develop Agentic AI solutions that aim to enhance decision-making and automate core SAP processes, streamlining workflows and boosting productivity.

We also know security and resilience remain a top priority among enterprises. For clients preparing for the quantum era, IBM’s Autonomous Security for Cloud, built on Amazon Bedrock, helps automate their quantum-safe transition, strengthen the resilience of mission-critical data, and manage compliance with emerging post-quantum cryptography (PQC) standards. And IBM’s Cyber Campus, hosted on AWS, provides educational institutions with an immersive cyber range that features hands-on curriculum and training to build a pipeline of skills, talent and expertise to help address future security threats.

Dr. Gregory Moody, Lee Professor of Information Systems and Director of Cybersecurity Programs at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas noted: “As companies expand their digital footprint through the use of the cloud, digital tools and AI, working with IBM has allowed us to bring innovative technologies, like hands-on cybersecurity training, to equip our students with the skills and expertise needed to impact the way organizations do business in an ever-connected world.”

Underpinning our partnership is IBM’s growing technology, industry and domain expertise in AWS capabilities, including 32 AWS competencies, such as Generative AI and Data & Analytics, and more than 25,000 active AWS certifications for IBM consultants. We are now a launch partner for AWS’ Agentic AI Specialization, a new category within the AWS AI Competency with IBM helping clients build autonomous AI systems using Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Agents and other AWS compatible frameworks.

Together, we’re shaping the next wave of innovation by helping clients scale AI beyond pilots to enterprise‑wide deployment.
